Overview
X Video Lightbox is a browser extension that enhances your X/Twitter video viewing experience. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.
Data Collection
We do not collect, store, or transmit any of your personal data.
The extension operates entirely within your browser and does not:
- Collect browsing history
- Track your activity
- Store your personal information
- Send data to external servers
- Use cookies or similar tracking technologies
- Access your X/Twitter account credentials
Permissions
The extension requires the following permissions to function:
activeTab
This permission allows the extension to interact with the active tab when you're on X/Twitter. It's used to detect video elements and inject the lightbox UI.
Host Permissions (twitter.com and x.com)
The extension needs access to twitter.com and x.com to add the expand button to video tweets and display the lightbox. All functionality runs entirely in your browser.
What the Extension Does
When you visit X/Twitter, the extension:
- Detects video elements on the page
- Adds an expand button to the tweet action bar
- Creates a lightbox overlay when you click the button
- Manages video playback (unmute, play, maintain position)
All of these operations happen locally in your browser. No data leaves your device.
Third-Party Services
The extension does not use any third-party analytics, tracking, or advertising services.
Open Source
X Video Lightbox is open source software. You can review the complete source code to verify our privacy practices.
Changes to This Policy
If we make any changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
